As we move into 2018 it is time to reflect on 2017. Perhaps the biggest highlight for 2017 was the spring announcement and addition of several new operational and sales positions within the company. Designed to improve our operational efficiencies and increase market penetration, we are pleased to report we are starting to see positive results in both areas with successes yet to come.
Another highlight was our first full year of operation for our new Tyler, TX facility. General Manager Ronny Testa and his team have wasted no time making a splash in the market and we are pleased to report they are well ahead of the business plan as we enter the new year.
We truly believe we have a unique culture at Boyd Metals. As we say in our mission statement, our goal is to deal ethically and with integrity with our customers, our vendors and our employees. Family is extremely important to the Boyd culture. Every day we emphasize treating each other with respect and working as a team to reach one common goal. In the midst of the Christmas season, we pause to appreciate each member of our valued team and their contribution to our overall success.
Boyd employees are involved in a wide range of organizations and continually seeks to give back to the community. Besides our support as a company of such organizations as our local Chambers of Commerce, United Way and Mercy Hospitals, employee’s activities in the community include work in their local churches and schools and organizations such as Circles, Life Choices, Wildcat Glades Nature Center, Rotary Club, Bikers Against Child Abuse, Promusica, Boy Scouts, The Mercy Foundation and many others.

Boyd Metals is excited about 2018. We continue to explore capital equipment purchases that will allow Boyd to bring even more value to you, the customer. We continue to add breadth and depth to our inventory mix, furthering our goal of being your one stop shop for all things metal. But above all, we will continue to strive to day in and day out exceed our customer’s expectations and to provide you the service and quality you desire.
